Health & Safety
In Spain, along with other European countries, you are entitled to free or reduced cost emergency treatment provided you have the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) that replaced the E111 form on 1st January 2006.
To apply, go to http://www.dh.gov.uk/travellers or pick up an application form from main post offices. You can also apply by calling 0845 606 2030. Whilst it isn't a replacement for good insurance cover, it can help for emergencies though not for medication.

Fiestas in the Costa Blanca
A fiesta is a party, a celebration, a thanksgiving. To a Spaniard, it symbolises the town in which they were born: its Patron Saint; its culture. Therefore fiestas are important to places, to individuals and to families, and so they're celebrated! There are so many wonderful fiestas celebrated in the Costa Blanca that you are bound to see one wherever you are and whatever time of year you travel.

Climate
Costa Blanca is renowned for its excellent climate throughout the year. In particular, Cabo Roig is blessed with one of the most agreeable climates in Europe due to the effect of the local large salt lakes by Torrevieja and the sheltering mountain range to the West. The area is identified by the World Health Council as one of the healthiest places in the world thanks to its dry climate especially beneficial for conditions such as rheumatism, arthritis and asthma.
The average 320 days sunshine each year and an average temperature in the 20’s make it an ideal summer or winter holiday location. Hot summers and warm dry winters mean you can enjoy sun all year around. With daily coastal temperatures in the spring and autumn months rarely dropping below a very acceptable 16 or 20 degrees centigrade, one can swim comfortably in the sea well into November.

Crime
There is not a crime problem in Cabo Roig but you should still be aware that petty criminals will target holiday makers. Be careful with your belongings and you will not have a problem.
Dress codes
Away from the holiday resorts beachwear should be confined to beach or poolside and shirts should always be worn in public places and on public transport. One should be particularly careful of dress code if entering churches or in small villages away from the coast.
