The Costa Blanca is situated on the south east coast of mainland Spain and is renowned for it's sandy white beaches and warm Mediterranean climate.
Steeped in history and boasting beautiful mountain views, sweet fragrance orange groves and glistening waters, this picturesque Valencian province has something for everyone.
You certainly won't be short of things to explore on the Costa Blanca, whether you wish to delve into its history and culture or reveal the untold mysteries of the deep blue Mediterranean.

At the picturesque marina there are excellent restaurants and bars near the historic watchtower. There are a huge variety of bars and restaurants in the area, particularly on Cabo Roig strip along the main coast road, the N-332, offering a wide range of cuisines including Spanish, Italian, French, Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Greek, Hungarian and of course English. Also, in the town there are banks, post office, medical centre, pharmacy, supermarkets, gift shops, ceramics, car hire, bike hire, and many other facilities.
It has a very multi-cultural feel as many people from other countries now live in this area. Cabo Roig is a stunning cape jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea. With a relaxed atmosphere, two sun-drenched white beaches, a recently refurbished marina and spectacular scenery, Cabo Roig offers a great alternative to some of the more bustling resorts in Costa del Sol. There are many secluded coves where you can catch the sun with very little company, even in the high season.
Cabo Roig is a small town in the area of Orihuela Costa area of the Costa Blanca situated just 5 miles south of Torrevieja. It has an excellent road network, two international airports close by and almost constant sunshine. It is on the main bus and taxi route and is easily accessible from both Alicante and Murcia airports, Murcia (San Javier) being the closest taking around 15 minutes by car.and it is only a two minute drive to the nearest motorway.


Beaches
The nearest beaches are Cabo Roig and Cala Capitan which are about a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk from the house. These beaches have soft sand, shallow waters and a beach bar. There are EU Blue Flag beaches, all just a few minutes apart by car, including Cala Capitan, Cala Caleta and Cala Bosque. The Cala Capitán beach is nearby and is ideal for sunbathing but parking is difficult. The nearby Aguamarina beach is a rocky one.
Orihuela Costa Resort
The Orihuela Costa Resort is a hotel, restaurant and sports club complex on Playa Orihuela. It has a large outdoor pool with large sunbathing terrace and loungers, extensive lawn area, 3 tennis courts, squash court, basket ball area and gym – available for a small charge – and pool bar and restaurant.


Street Markets
There are a number of street markets near to Cabo Roig. Playa Flamenca’s Saturday market, held in a wide road, is the nearest large market. It is popular and has a good range of shoes, bags, clothes and fresh food. There is a market every evening along the promenade in Torrevieja.
Bars & Restaurants
The free newspapers CoastRider and Le@der give information on the restaurants and entertainment available. You can pick them up at most bars. The “strip” is where you will find most of the bars and restaurants.
